In Pycharm/Python, typing a number as a variable

Apparently a number doesn’t require quotation marks in order to type it as a variable, unlike strings, that do require quotation marks. Why am I not able to do that? It’s requiring my in Pycharm to put numbers in variables also in quotation marks!

What? This does not make any sense at all. See How to Ask

  • I didn't downvote, but I am unsure what you mean. Numeric literals cannot have quotes. String literals require quotation marks. But I am unsure what you are saying about PyCharm. What are you unable to do, exactly?
