Irving Cummings, all'anagrafe Irving Caminsky, (New York City, 9 ottobre 1888 – Los Angeles, 18 aprile 1959), è stato un regista, attore, sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico statunitense.

Biografia |


Nasce come Irving Caminsky e comincia la sua carriera d'attore a Broadway, lavorando nella compagnia di Lillian Russell. Approdato agli schermi cinematografici attorno all'inizio degli anni '10, ottiene ben presto la popolarità come attore di primo piano in un'industria cinematografica allora agli albori. Negli anni '20 inizia a dirigere film soprattutto d'azione ed occasionalmente qualche commedia, ma il vero slancio come regista lo trova dieci anni dopo quando andrà a lavorare per la 20th Century Fox. Qui si specializza nei grandi film in Technicolor per cui la casa andava famosa, dirigendo le più divertenti commedie di Betty Grable e Shirley Temple
