Compress URI image to specific size before upload
Assuming I am using a library that returns an image as URI, and I want to upload that to a database, how should I do that:
Do I need to first convert the image from URI to a certain extension?
I am beginner with Android, so I have a few concerns:
-What is image URI? It doesn't seem to be any extension such as PNG or JPEG.
-If I want to eventually upload that image URI to a server, I should convert it to PNG or JPEG, right?
-How to compress the converted image so that it won't take too much size in the database?
