Why can strace miss syscalls?
I was reading this blog post which aims to write a seccomp profile for the chomre browser using strace (with the -f
option to follow forks). However some syscalls such as unshare and setns were missing.
Is there something about using namespaces that would lead to strace missing syscalls? What other things (besides leaving off the -f
flag) could cause strace to miss syscalls made by a particular program?
