XML to JSON using Jackson throwing utf-8 error
I'm converting xml to json using jackson and I keep getting this error. I'm aware that the reason behind the error is that the entered xml is not UTF-8 encoded, is there anyway to work around this error so that my data is still parsed?
XmlMapper xmlMapper = new XmlMapper();
JsonNode node = xmlMapper.readTree(xml.getBytes());
ObjectMapper jsonMapper = new ObjectMapper();
String json = jsonMapper.writeValueAsString(node);
Invalid UTF-8 start byte 0xa6 (at char #10924, byte #7999) at
com.fasterxml.jackson.dataformat.xml.util.StaxUtil.throwXmlAsIOException(StaxUtil.java:24)
at
com.fasterxml.jackson.dataformat.xml.deser.XmlTokenStream.next(XmlTokenStream.java:171)
** update using jackson version 2.8.10
java json xml jackson jackson-dataformat-xml

You could try to call getBytes with the correct Charset like xml.getBytes("ISO-8859-1")
