NativeScript plugin Angular instructions don't support @ViewChild
If I follow the instructions for supporting Angular in a NativeScript plugin, @ViewChild doesn't work correctly.
For example, I would expect
app.html: <plugin></plugin>
app.component.ts: @ViewChild(PluginDirective) myPlugin: PluginDirective;
to set myPlugin to the plugin's directive class. Instead, I get an error at startup that the ViewChild query can't be constructed:
NativeScript encountered a fatal error: Error: Can't construct a query for the property "myPlugin" of "AppComponent" since the query selector wasn't defined.
If I change this to:
app.html: <plugin #plugin></plugin>
app.component.ts: @ViewChild("plugin") myPlugin: ElementRef;
then it works, but then I have to use myPlugin.nativeElement to access the element and I lose type checking.
Are there instructions on how to properly support @ViewChild in a NativeScript plugin?
