Webpack - How to setup simple multi app builds
Usecase
I have setup a node server so that when ever someone navigates to app1.domain.com it load the static site app1.
I have multiple apps. app1, app2 and app3. Each app folder has its own index.html, index.js and index.scss. They are all simple react apps. Their directory structure is like this.
Source Directory
I have built the following webpack configuration that compiles/builds my react app into a file called bundle.js along with my scss. In addition i am copying over the html file. It gets output to dist/public/
webpack.config.js
const path = require("path");
const WebpackShellPlugin = require("webpack-shell-plugin");
const nodeExternals = require("webpack-node-externals");
const CopyWebpackPlugin = require('copy-webpack-plugin');
module.exports = [
{
// Server config removed
},
{
entry: {
main: './src/public/app1/index.js'
},
output: {
path: __dirname + '/dist/public/app1',
publicPath: '/',
filename: 'bundle.js'
},
module: {
rules: [
{
test: /(.css|.scss)$/,
use: [{
loader: "style-loader" // creates style nodes from JS strings
}, {
loader: "css-loader" // translates CSS into CommonJS
}, {
loader: "sass-loader" // compiles Sass to CSS
}]
},
{
test: /.(jsx|js)?$/,
use: [{
loader: "babel-loader",
// options: {
// cacheDirectory: true,
// presets: ['react', 'es2015'] // Transpiles JSX and ES6
// }
}]
}
],
},
"plugins": [
new CopyWebpackPlugin([{
from: 'src/public/app1/index.html',
to: ''
}]),
]
}
];
How can i extend this configuration so that it would automatically do this for other folders such as app2 and app3. ( right now i am only doing it for app1).
Here is an example of the current output, i expect to see the same for app2 and app3.
Output
webpack
