Trying to setup hadoop native libs, so I can run C++ jobs using mapred pipes ...
All jobs fail currently, that's because snappy is not detected by hadoop installation. Below is the ouput of hadoop checknative -a
- My hadoop is built from source code (v3.1.1)
- I checked out snappy and built it, it created the files
/usr/lib/x86_64/libsnappy.so|a|...
, buthadoop checknative -a
still showssnappy: false
. - I also installed
snappy
viasudo apt get install snappy-dev
, same problem. - I ran
ld -l snappy --verbose
and I could see that snappy was found in/usr/lib/x86_64/libsnappy.so
, but Mister Hadoop still refuses to acknowledge its existence.
libcrypto.so
is also needed by hadoop, and I have it in the same directory aslibsnappy.so
, but Hadoop finds the former and not the later. Grrrrrrrr.
Any ideas ?
