Could not get object from factory: Autofac (Sitecore 8.2)

I have a few custom Sitecore commands that are defined in my web config, and on startup they are registered. I am running into an error with one of them, where it is failing to create a command from the Autofac factory.
The error occurs at this line:
return Sitecore.Configuration.Factory.CreateObject(node, null, true) as Command;
In this case, the OuterXML of node is as follows:
<command name="customcommands:importtrials" factory="Autofac"
ref="Site.Domain.CustomSitecore.Commands.CustomCommands.ImportTrials, Site.Domain"
type="Site.Domain.CustomSitecore.Commands.CustomCommands.ImportTrials, Site.Domain"
patch:source="customcommands.config" xmlns:patch="http://www.sitecore.net/xmlconfig/" />
When I hit that line, it throws an error with the following message:
Could not get object from factory: Autofac. Object id: Site.Domain.CustomSitecore.Commands.CustomCommands.ImportTrials, Site.Domain (method: Sitecore.Configuration.DefaultFactory.CreateObject(XmlNode configNode, String parameters, Boolean assert, IFactoryHelper helper))
What would cause this to happen?
sitecore autofac factory sitecore8.2
